Tottenham Hotspur lost to West Brom. At home. It was a disaster.
And Mauricio Pochettino agrees. He did not mince words in his post-match press conference.
"The beginning of the game was wrong," Pochettino said. "We were very slow, we moved the ball very slow, there was a slow tempo. In football, you need to play quick. The way that we played, I think was wrong because we played very, very slow from the beginning.
"I am angry or disappointed - I don't know the best word to show my feelings. We had a bad day. I am very disappointed because we had a very bad day, we played very slowly."
I don't think anyone would disagree with him. It was horrible to watch Spurs today and they were very, very, very slow.
And Pochettino didn't make any excuses for Spurs' terrible performance either. While some called it a Europa League hangover or any number of things, the Tottenham manager ruled it out from the start, saying that there wasn't an excuse for how they played.
That said, Pochettino doesn't think they should have lost.
"I think the result is not fair because I think a draw is, if you analyze the game."
That is also probably true, but that's not how the sport works so no points it is. Do better next time.
