Theo Walcott, Serge Gnabry, Yaya Sonogo to miss Spurs clash

Shaun Botterill

Theo Walcott, Yaya Sanogo and Serge Gnabry will not be available for Arsenal when Tottenham Hotspur visit the Emirates on Saturday. All three have been ruled out until after the international break in two weeks.

It was always unlikely that the three would be available against Spurs. They have been battling serious injuries for weeks and an October return always seemed like a good bet, but Arsenal repeatedly said that they were making progress so there was some hope that they could play before the end of the month. That's been scuttled now though.

Arsenal are not desperate for any three of the players. Sanogo and Gnabry are hardly first choice and the addition of Alexis Sanchez has given the Gunners cover for Walcott. Still, Walcott has generally played very well against Spurs so even if he was only available off of the bench, he could have made an impact.

Joining that trio in missing Sunday's match is Mathieu Debuchy. He underwent an ankle operation and is facing three months on the sidelines. Nacho Monreal is also unlikely to play, although that has yet to be confirmed.
