Harry Kane inks new contract with Spurs

Score 20 goals, get a new contract.

Harry Kane is sticking around White Hart Lane for a bit longer, and he's going to cash some bigger checks too. The 20-goal scorer has inked a new contract with Tottenham Hotspur that will keep him at the club for another five-and-a-half years, the club confirmed.

Kane's new contract has been rumored for more than a week now so it is no surprise, and getting it done on transfer deadline day makes a statement that he is going absolutely nowhere. It is rumored to be for £35,000 per week, which is hardly massive, but makes Kane happy and that is enough.

While the new deal does run through 2020, few expect it to actually be in effect through then. With the way Kane is playing, he'll only be at Tottenham in 2020 if he's on a much bigger contract.

The 21-year-old striker hit the 20-goal mark with a brace against West Brom over the weekend and is the clear cut first choice striker at Spurs. He has half of those goals in the Premier League, where he ranks fifth in scoring. And as good as he's been, he is especially important to Tottenham, who brought him through the academy and are using him as the poster boy for what they want the club to be under Mauricio Pochettino.

Kane is going to be at Tottenham for a while longer. PARTY!
