Sunderland don't have very many good players on their books and Tottenham Hotspur have way too many solid, but not great players on theirs. That's why Nacer Chadli has been linked to just about every club you can think of, with the latest being Sunderland. The Mirror claim that the Black Cats would like to take him on a one-year loan.
Chadli seems to have been offered the chance to go to Swansea and Southampton in the past and turned them down, so there's also a very good chance he refuses to go to Sunderland. However, at this point, he might have stopped believing that he can prove to Mauricio Pochettino that he's a first team player and might welcome a loan to a Premier League side. Gylfi Sigurdsson changed his tune, after all.
Of course, Spurs don't really want a loan. They want someone to give them back the £7m that they paid for Chadli, while Sunderland want to do no such thing.
Ultimately, we'll probably have to hear about this until deadline day, at which point Chadli will go somewhere for a £1-2m loan fee and an option to buy.
