Sevilla (just about) confirm Fazio departure

Federico Fazio is probably on his way to Spurs. The Sevilla director of football mostly said so.

A move for Sevilla central defender Federico Fazio materialized shortly after Mateo Musacchio's transfer fell apart amidst a mess of third-party conflicts. Today Sevilla's Director of Football Ramón Rodríguez Verdejo, known as Monchi, told the media that an English club has agreed to pay Fazio's release clause and that Sevilla is now making arrangements for his departure.

Monchi says the club would not negotiate, but they had little option when the unnamed Club Inglés came through with the release clause bid. Presumably this club was Tottenham Hotspur. Presumably this money is going to come through and Fazio will pass his medical and be announced as a Tottenham player very soon. There are still always possible stumbling blocks when no official announcement has been made, but I think this basically confirms that Fazio is going to be signed barring a bad medical.
