It's always a glorious feeling when transfer news moves quickly. Only a day after rumors began in earnest, it appears very likely that tomorrow will see the finalization of a $3.5 million (2 million pound sterling) move for DeAndre Yedlin from Seattle Sounders to Tottenham Hotspur, according to Ives Galarcep at Goal.
Tottenham plans to wait and decide what to do with Yedlin when he arrives in January, his two moves either working into the rotation here at the club or being loaned out to continue his development at a lower table EPL club or a Championship side.
The transfer of Yedlin would be the richest move for a homegrown MLS player in history, eclipsing the $2.5 million move of Andy Najar.
The move puts into question the future of 25 year old Kyle Naughton, who will fall to third choice RB in quick succession as Yedlin continues to improve and Kyle Walker shows no signs of leaving. With the move, Yedlin will become the fourth United States National Team member to wear the lilywhite, joining goalkeepers Kasey Keller and Brad Friedel, alongside former attacking midfielder Clint Dempsey.
