The transfer rumors are coming fast and furious! But this one is for this summer. The Mirror is reporting that Spurs have an agreement with West Ham defender Winston Reid for the central defender to join Tottenham Hotspur on a free transfer this summer.
Reid is a native New Zealander and has reportedly refused to sign numerous contract extensions with the Hammers over the past few months. His contract with the east London side expires this summer and he's keen to join Spurs for free this year. If true, he'd likely be a rotation and backup to the likes of Jan Vertonghen and Federico Fazio, and would be in contention for minutes with Eric Dier. He's a solid defender who can do a job for a team like Spurs.
Of course, this is still rumor so don't count it as gospel for now and wait for official confirmation from the club. That said, adding Reid for nothing is the most Levy of all possible Levy deals. He'd be a good addition to a defensive stable that could use an upgrade. Plus he's not Younes Kaboul. And it pisses off West Ham, which is an unexpected bonus.
