Tottenham Hotspur is making a push to acquire outstanding young football talent that they can groom into quality first team players under manager Mauricio Pochettino. Persuant to that, the Telegraph is reporting that Spurs are making a late bid for MK Dons' Dele Alli on a deadline day deal that could bring the young midfielder to White Hart Lane.

Alli is considered one of the brightest stars in the Football League and is wanted by Newcastle United, PSG, Aston Villa, and more. Alli, at age 18, is an English national, having starred for the England U19 side, and has scored 12 goals in 31 games for Dons.

Dele would certainly be one for the future, but at a price reportedly at £5m he's not that expensive and if he's as good as believed he could develop into a real asset for Spurs. Tottenham are already stocked at central midfield, and that's not including young players on loan like Tom Carroll, but Alli would be a player that Spurs would groom. He's a long-term project as opposed to an immediate asset. The Telegraph article claims that Spurs would loan Alli back to Dons for the remainder of the season.

By all indications, Alli will have his choice as to which team to move.
