Tottenham Hotspur are the favorites to sign Delle Alli, according to Sky Sports News and pretty much every other outlet. And why are they the favorites? Because that is where Alli wants to go.
Alli is a highly rated 18-year-old who is a star for the England U-19 side and has drawn interest from Paris Saint-Germain, Newcastle and Aston Villa, among others. Newcastle looked like the team most interested in him and, for a time, many thought they would sign him, but the teenager prefers Spurs and they look likely to buy him from MK Dons before the transfer deadline slams shut.
As part of the deal, Spurs would buy Alli then loan him back to MK Dons for the remainder of the season. The transfer would reportedly be for £5 million, which would be a bargain if he makes good on his considerable potential, but is obviously a risk with an 18-year-old.
Buying a young central midfielder is interesting seeing as Spurs have Nabil Bentaleb and Ryan Mason, but it looks like Tottenham are going after him hard. Rumors of the deal only just popped up, and now they're reportedly near getting the deal done so things have moved quickly.
