Stoke City chasing Tottenham winger

Aaron Lennon isn't going to Hull City anymore. So maybe he'll go to Stoke City?

The Potters are chasing Lennon and look to be the favorites for the Tottenham Hotspur winger, according to Sky Sports News. Leicester City are also in on Lennon, while another club or two are expected to join the race so it's unlikely that this gets done soon. Lennon will almost certainly go down to the deadline.

Lennon was rumored to be joining Hull on loan with an option to buy. That had been the expected move for the better part of the last week, but he apparently nixed the deal after watching them play on the weekend. That's rough on the Tigers, and Spurs who wanted to shed the winger, but it doesn't look as if he'll be stuck at Tottenham anyway.

Lennon isn't first choice at Spurs, and won't be at any point again this season. He's not even second choice. He stayed around despite being linked to moves in the summer because he wanted to fight for his place at White Hart Lane, but it didn't work out for him and it looks like he's ready to move on now.

The Hull deal would have been a £7 million option to buy in the summer. There's no word yet on what price Stoke and Leicester envision for Lennon, nor what Spurs wants for him, but somewhere between £5 million and £7 million is reasonable.
