West Brom targeting Spurs' Etienne Capoue

News from the Birmingham Mail is suggesting that West Bromwich Albion, whom Spurs defeated 3-0 this past Saturday, could be targeting Spurs defensive midfielder Etienne Capoue.

Capoue was signed just 18 months ago as one of the "Gareth Bale 7" by then-Spurs manager Andre Villas Boas after a promising spell with Ligue 1 club Toulouse. Despite starting the first few games of this season for Mauricio Pochettino, Capoue has found himself sliding farther and farther down the pecking order at White Hart Lane. Capoue didn't make the match day squad against West Brom this weekend. The Birmingham Mail suggest that he's now a target for manager Tony Pulis to add steel to the midfield.

There are no indications as to whether a bid has been formally lodged for the Frenchman's services, only that West Brom are taking a long, hard look at him. With Spurs stocked at central midfield and a strong possibility of adding MK Dons' Dele Alli before the close of the window, this could (maybe? possibly?) be a cromulent rumor.
