Spurs midfielder says no to West Brom move

Etienne Capoue looks like he's staying put at Tottenham Hotspur. While there was chatter about him having interest from throughout England, as well as abroad, West Brom were the only club that really made a move for him. That'd have worked out just fine except for one problem: Capoue doesn't want to go there.

The Frenchman nixed a move to West Brom and with that, the deal died.

West Brom's loan for Capoue reportedly would have included an option to buy, but that won't be happening anymore.

It's not as if Capoue will never play for Spurs. While Nabil Bentaleb, Ryan Mason, Benjamin Stambouli and Moussa Dembele all look to be above him right now, Tottenham's move to use a three-man midfield more often has increased the number of midfielders that the team needs and Capoue isn't fighting with Mauricio Pochettino. He's just not going to play regularly for Spurs, something he's apparently okay with or he would be at West Brom.
