Tottenham Hotspur confirmed today that fullback Kyle Walker-Peters has been loaned to fellow Premier League side Southampton, effective immediately and for the remainder of the season.
@KWPeters has joined Southampton on loan until the end of the season.

Walker-Peters’ chances have been few and far between this year as José Mourinho has locked onto Serge Aurier as his preferred option. Surprisingly, Japhet Tanganga has burst onto the scene in the last month and shown himself to be more than serviceable on the back line, giving Mourinho some leeway in the search for a true right fullback to compete with Aurier.
Southampton are finalizing a move that will send Cedric on loan to Arsenal for the rest of the season, so this move makes sense in that context. Crystal Palace had been rumored to be interested for quite some time but Southampton have beaten them to the punch. Kyle should get some ample playing time on the south coast, though we don’t have word yet if this is a straight loan or if there is an option to buy at the end of the season for the Saints.
Best of luck on the coast, Kyle!
EDIT (12:42 PM ET): Looks like a straight loan, no buy option.
Great move for Kyle Walker-Peters. He desperately needs game time and confidence. There's a very good player in there. The lack of an option to buy means he could yet come back and continue his Spurs journey if he shines with the Saints. https://t.co/4ovTq9Yuhh
